HRH The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh KG KT
The Commodore, Committee Members and Trustees of The Royal Dorset Yacht Club are all deeply saddened by the passing of HRH The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh who has been our Patron since 1952.
The Yacht Club sends its deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
Our Clubhouse is unfortunately temporarily closed due to the Government's restrictions. We are hoping to reopen from 21st May.
We plan to have groups of up to 6, with table service and payment by card to reduce the risk to our member volunteers. Opening times will be circulated in advance when confirmed.
To thank you for your support we are holding a couple of evenings for Members in the Clubhouse with a complementary glass of bubbles, food and entertainment.
On 17th July we will host an evening with a buffet and dancing to C Sharp Blues.
This will be followed on 14th August with a thai buffet and dancing to Norman and Anne (from Replay). Members will need to book by email.
We will be organising our traditional black tie dinner with entertainment by Darron Garnett and the usual excellent food on 23rd October. We will be limiting numbers to ensure all members can enjoy more space. I would expect this to book up quickly once it is advertised so watch this space for further details. Once again, booking will be by email only.
Annual General Meeting
As you will be aware the AGM date has moved several times due to the pandemic and we will be holding our AGM in March 2022 due to ongoing restrictions and potential new variants etc. I am sure you will understand the rationale for doing this.
