On behalf of myself, my fellow Flag Officers and members I welcome you to the Royal Dorset Yacht Club and this updated website. Our Club has been at the heart of sailing in Weymouth for over 130 years. It is located at the centre of the historic harbour on Town Quay and we are always pleased to offer our facilities to visiting yachtsmen.
We have active racing, cruising and social programmes for sailing and motor boat enthusiasts. The choice of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour as the Olympic sailing venue for 2012 has already attracted attention to our wonderful sailing waters and increased interest in the Club. Visitors can be assured of a warm welcome here in Weymouth and particularly in the RDYC, whether they be passing through on a cruise or staying to take part in a regatta or other sailing event.
To our members, I encourage you all to explore this revitalised website and to use it as your first source of information about your Club. We will do our best to keep it updated regularly on all Club matters so you will feel included and encouraged to join in activities both on and off the water.
My best wishes for fair winds and safe landfalls.

George V raced regularly in Weymouth Bay in his yacht 'Britannia' under the burgee of the RDYC and his racing flag and burgee were presented to the Club on his death.... |
