The Royal Dorset Yacht Club is one of the oldest in the country having received the Royal Charter in 1875 entitling its members to fly the Blue Ensign. George V raced regularly in Weymouth Bay in his yacht 'Britannia' under the burgee of the RDYC and his racing flag and burgee were presented to the Club on his death.
The Club is situated just over a quarter of a mile along the quay from the new Marina Building in the Inner Harbour and occupies a unique location directly overlooking Weymouth's 17th century Old Harbour. Pontoon berths are available in the Marina and deepwater moorings in Portland Harbour nearby.
The main bar room is on the ground floor and provides comfortable surroundings for day-to-day use by members and visitors. As a private members Club we provide a bar service at Club prices, bar snacks, showers, telephone, fax and internet facilities (subject to availability), weather forecasts and a pool table. All visiting Yachtsmen to Weymouth are welcome to use the Club Bar and facilities.
