Cruising Programme 2008

R.D.Y.C. CRUISES 2008

Itineraries for this year's cruises are detailed below.

At the September General Committee Meeting it was agreed that a refundable deposit will be required for all 2008 cruises. This arises from the problems encountered last year when some members dropped out at the last minute - in some cases without notifying the organisers. This involved last minute telephone calls or emails as both berths and sometimes meals have been reserved months in advance, and was embarrassing to the Club.
This deposit, payable on entry, will be refundable on attendance or if reasonable cancellation notice and reason given. Any forfeited deposit will go towards Club funds.

Please also remember that berths and organised dinners have been reserved months in advance and that sometimes a deposit is required for which you members may still be liable.

This event is not just a race, it’s also a rally for both sail and motor boats who just wish to cruise across. For those with the time available the Rally will be extended to include Dielette 26th/28th and Braye (Alderney) 28th/31st, then returning to Weymouth on 31st.

Summer Cruise 2008
9th August to 6th September
The aim of this years summer cruise is to include the Deauville Yacht Club’s second Sea Horse Rally. Invited to attend are the majority of the ‘Royal’ yacht clubs based along the south coast. In 2007 this excellent event included golf, yacht racing (J80’s provided by Deauville Yacht Club,) horse racing, polo, a civic reception from the Mayor of Deauville and dinner at the Casino. Some events were free with others at greatly subsidised prices. The intention with this years cruise is that cruisers can join or leave on planned dates depending on the time they have available, although dates of joining or leaving must be advised in order to reserve berths.
A deposit of £ 20 is payable on entry. Full itinerary:-
